Introduction:
This course is designed to provide the student with the necessary tools and skills required to attain an ITIL Foundation certificate. The ITIL foundation course is designed to enable an individual to understand the importance of service management, both to the IT service provider, and to its customers. ITIL or the Information Technology Infrastructure Library is a set of best practices that focuses on the alignment of IT services with the needs of a business.
The course will help you to understand:
- how modern IT and digital service organisations operate
- how value streams increase speed and efficiency
- how cultural or behavioral principles guide work that benefits the wider organisation
- how to use commonly-used service management terms and concepts
Prerequisite:
There are no official prerequisites for the certification exam.
Course Objective:
This Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals training goes step-by-step through the AZ-900 exam objectives, and covers topics such as:
- Introduction & Overview
- Key Concepts of Service Management
- The Four Dimensions of Service Management
- The ITIL Service Value System
- The Service Value Chain
- ITIL Management Practices
Hands on Experience:
The features of the course include practical exercises and labs and easy to understand lessons. This course is adequate to provide trainees with the required knowledge and practical skills.
SQA Framework:
The ITIL program also offers a number of shorter curricula which are related to SQA standalone HN Units. These are also assessed by means of restricted response questions and practical labs and so can give credit transfer to complete units. Learner can earn up to 40 credits upon passing all exams successfully.

Course funding: SAAS: Scottish Awards Agency for Scotland (PTFG)
This course is fully SAAS PTFG funded and available to eligible individuals only;
SAAS General funding eligibility requirement:
- You have to be a resident of Scotland
- Either employed and earning less than 25k a year or can be unemployed as well
- Have not used the SAAS funding in this Academic Year.
Other criteria:
- Students do not need to pay it back as this is a grant not a loan.
- This Part time funding can be used/applied by someone who previously granted a funding for a degree, postgrad or any other full time studies (HNC/HND) etc.
- Part time funding cannot be receive in a same session if someone is already receiving any part/full time funding for other courses.
- Part Time funding can only be utilised for one course in each academic year
- SAAS part time funding academic year runs from 1st Aug to 31st
