Our weekly lessons are tutor-led, taught in person at our Edinburgh centre, aimed at students studying SQA National 5 Computing Science. The 40 minutes-long class will allow for a deeper and more impactful learning experience compared to traditional classes at school. The lessons also provide an opportunity to fill gaps in knowledge that students may have due to absence from school.
This course is designed for learners who are considering to appear for the NAT 5 Computing Science SQA exam. It provides opportunities to enhance skills in planning and organising, working independently and within teams, critical thinking and decision making, research, communication, and self and peer evaluation, in a range of contexts.
Test your knowledge:
We will evaluate students existing knowledge with the help of an aptitude test.
What topics will be covered?
The course has four areas of study which are covered in depth, these are as follows:
• Software design and development
• Computer systems
• Database design and development
• Web design and development
NAT 5 Syllabus will be followed throughout the tuition
Additional help to Students:
Students will be provided ITPT Moodle access to utilise uploaded digital learning materials to aid in learning more from home.

Course Introduction:

Python is in immense demand for a long time due to many reasons, first and foremost reason it is highly productive as compared to other programming languages such as C++ and Java. SQA’s Framework;
This course has been organised in conjunction with the PDA Software Development @ SCQF Level 7 so the Learners will have an opportunity to earn 48 SQA credit points & received a certificate from Scottish Qualification Authority when successfully passed all 3 relevant exams.

Hands on Experience:
The features of the course include: practical exercises and labs, easy to understand lessons.

Classes Duration:
This course will be delivered 4 hours a day every week, one full classroom and will run for 18 weeks.

Modes of Learning:
You have the option of undertaking this course via following learning modes:
1.) Face to Face Classroom based Learning: You will attend the class each week on the day and time mentioned above.

This is a grant not a loan and the funding covers the full cost of our designated courses including the SQA relevant exams.

In addition to the funding application student must fill ITPT course admission application form so we can reserve the place while their SAAS funding application is in process. Any student who do not inform us then their place in the course will not be guaranteed as we have minimum places to offer to SAAS funded students/learners.

Students intending to use SAAS Part Time Fee Grant to fund their studies should apply well prior to the course starting dates. In some cases we allow students to enrol while their funding is in process, if the course date is near or gone past but they have to provide the proof that their funding has been applied to SAAS PTFG and is in under process.

Self-Finance
Students can also self-finance this course if do not qualify for the funding. The cost can be divided into manageable instalments but this needs to be paid within the course duration. To book the place, first instalment must be paid three weeks before the course starting date.

There is also a strong emphasis on network security.

This Java SE 8 Associate training teaches students with little or no programming experience to begin to learn to program using the Java programming language. It explores the significance of object-oriented programming, the keywords and constructs of the Java programming language and the steps required to create simple Java technology programs.

This hands-on Java SE 8 Associate course provides an introduction to programming using the Java language.
