SUMMARY:Advanced Highers: Computing Science Tuition Programmes @ Edinburgh.
DESCRIPTION:Advanced Highers: Computing Science \n\nWeekly Group Sessions \n\n\nOur tutor-led group sessions are designed for students studying Advanced Higher Computing Science (Qualifications Scotland). These structured one-hour lessons are delivered in small groups (up to five students)\, either in-person at our Edinburgh centre or online. \n\n\nThese sessions provide a focused and engaging learning environment\, allowing students to explore complex concepts in greater depth than typically possible in school. They are particularly beneficial for reinforcing classroom learning\, addressing gaps in understanding\, and building exam confidence. \n\n\nOne-to-Three / Small Group – Virtual/Remote Sessions Tuition \n\n\nFor a more personalised experience\, we offer one-to-three and small group tuition\, available both in-person and remotely. \n\n\nThese 60-minute sessions are tailored to the individual learner\, allowing tutors to: \n\n\nAdapt lessons to specific strengths and weaknesses\nProvide targeted exam preparation\nSupport coursework and project development\nBuild confidence at the student’s own pace\n\n\n  \nThis format ensures maximum attention and a highly customised learning experience. \n\n\nUpcoming Time Table: \n\n\n\n\nOne to Five* (Weekly Class – Face to Face)\n\n\nStarting Date\nDay\nTime\nDuration\nSubject\nClass Level\nFees\n\n\n06 Jun 2026\nSaturday\n04:20 to 05:20\n60 Minutes Session\nComputing Science\nAdvanced Highers\n£100 (Monthly)\n\n\n* Not more than 5 students per class\n\n\n\n\n  \nOption 2: \n\n\n\n\nOne to Three – (Weekly Remote/Online Class)\n\n\nStarting From\nDay & Time\nDuration\nSubject\nClass Level\nFees\n\n\nNo Specific Dates\, can be started at anytime\nPlease contact us either via email for the slot’s availability.\n1 Hour  Session\nComputing Science\nAdvanced Highers\n£150 (Monthly)\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nInitial Knowledge Assessment \n\n\nAll students begin with a diagnostic aptitude test to assess their current level of understanding. This allows us to: \n\n\nIdentify strengths and areas for development\nCreate a personalised learning plan\nTrack progress over time\n\n\n  \nWho is this Course For? \n\n\nThis course is ideal for students preparing for the Advanced Higher Computing Science exam (Qualifications Scotland). \n\n\nIt is particularly suited for learners who want to: \n\n\nStrengthen independent learning skills\nDevelop advanced problem-solving abilities\nEnhance computational thinking\nImprove teamwork and communication\nGain confidence in tackling complex tasks and exam questions\n\n\n  \nCourse Content \n\n\nThe course aligns fully with the Qualifications Scotland Advanced Higher Computing Science syllabus and is structured around four core areas: \n\n\nSoftware Design and Development\n\n\nCandidates gain knowledge\, understanding\, and advanced practical problem-solving skills in software design and development using appropriate development environments. They build object-oriented programming and computational thinking skills by analysing\, designing\, implementing\, testing\, and evaluating solutions\, and by explaining how modular programs operate. Using their understanding of data types and programming constructs\, candidates develop efficient programs to solve complex problems. \n\n\nKey Topics: \n\n\nDevelopment Methodologies\nAnalysis & Problem Decomposition\nDesign Techniques\nImplementation:\nData Types & Structures\nComputational Constructs\nAlgorithm Specification\nTesting & Debugging\nEvaluation of Solutions\nPractice through Past Papers & Quizzes\n\n  \n\nDatabase Design and Development\n\n\nCandidates develop knowledge\, understanding\, and advanced practical problem-solving skills in database design and development through a variety of practical tasks. They use SQL to create\, manage\, and query relational databases. Candidates apply computational-thinking skills to analyse\, design\, implement\, test\, and evaluate database solutions using appropriate development tools. They also demonstrate interpretation skills when working with complex database features in both familiar and unfamiliar contexts. \n\n\nKey Topics: \n\n\nAnalysis of Requirements\nDatabase Design (including relational models)\nImplementation using SQL (minimum three linked tables)\nTesting and Validation\nEvaluation of Database Solutions\nPractice through Past Papers & Quizzes\n\n\nWeb Design and Development\n\n\nCandidates develop knowledge\, understanding\, and advanced practical problem-solving skills in web design and development through a range of practical and investigative tasks. They apply computational-thinking skills to analyse\, design\, implement\, test\, and evaluate solutions to web-based problems using development tools such as HTML\, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)\, and PHP. Candidates also demonstrate interpretation skills when working with complex features in both familiar and unfamiliar contexts. \n\n\nKey Topics: \n\n\nAnalysis & Planning\nWeb Design Principles\nImplementation:\nHTML\nCSS\nJavaScript\nTesting & Debugging\nEvaluation of Web Solutions\nPractice through Past Papers & Quizzes\n\n\nIntegrated Learning Methodology: \n\n\nOur delivery model unifies Software Design & Development\, Database Design & Development\, and Web Design & Development into a single\, powerful learning experience. \n\n\nInstead of teaching these disciplines in isolation\, learners engage in a fully integrated\, project-driven approach where all skills are applied simultaneously to build complete\, real-world systems. \n\n\nAssessment & Exam Preparation \n\n\nRegular progress tracking and feedback\nExam-style questions and timed practice\nFull past paper practice with tutor guidance\nFocus on exam techniques and marking criteria\n\n\n  \nRecommended Examination \n\n\nQualifications Scotland – Advanced Higher Computing Science \n\n\nOur Edinburgh centre is at the following location: \nIT Professional Training (ITPT)\n21 Calder Road\nEdinburgh\,\nEH11 3PF \nEnrolment Process:\nif you wish to join\, we can send you the admission form and further information via email. You can request this by emailing info@itpt.co.uk. \nThe student that wishes to enrol on one of these tuitions may also have to complete the aptitude Form. SUMMARY:ISC2: CC (Cybersecurity Certification) Course at Edinburgh (Classroom\, blended\, virtual learning available).
DESCRIPTION:Introduction: \n\n\nITPT has forged a partnership with a distinguished cybersecurity membership organisation and certification provider\, ISC2\, to assist students in acquiring access to esteemed certifications recognised by global employers\, such as the Certification in Cybersecurity (CC). Commencing with our Certified in Cyber Security (CC) certification\, this programme equips newcomers or students from diverse backgrounds\, including those without technical expertise\, with foundational knowledge and readiness for entry-level positions within the contemporary cybersecurity workforce. \n\n\nThe term cybersecurity encompasses the collective methods\, technologies\, and processes aimed at safeguarding the confidentiality\, integrity\, networks\, devices\, and data against cyber-attacks or unauthorised access. It may also be referred to as IT security. Cybercriminals and malicious hackers frequently dominate news headlines. They have the capability to tarnish a company’s reputation and obliterate its business prospects in an instant\, with the threat escalating rapidly. Consequently\, cybersecurity is emerging as one of the world’s fastest-growing business sectors. Computing technology stands as one of the most expansive areas of growth in the current job market\, particularly within the cyber realm. It offers employment opportunities to individuals who prefer working either globally or locally\, often from the comfort of their own homes. \n\n\nPrerequisite: \n\n\nThe CC course typically does not have specific prerequisites. It is designed to accommodate individuals from various backgrounds\, including those without prior technical experience.
