Linux has grown into an industry-leading software and service delivery platform that is used for everything from super computers and Web servers to virtualised systems and your Android phone. This growth creates a high demand for qualified Linux professionals.


    CompTIA Linux+ course teaches students how to install, configure and maintain a Linux system in a networked environment. Students will not only learn to perform basic administrative tasks such as adding and managing users, creating and maintaining file systems, developing and implementing a security policy, and performing software installation and package management, but will also learn to perform Linux network-related tasks, including installing and supporting SSH, NFS, Samba, DNS, DHCP, and the Apache Web server. Comprehensive hands on exercises are integrated throughout to reinforce learning and develop real competency.



    No prerequisite stated by CompTIA specifically but the following would be very handy to have;

    Recommended Knowledge: Experience with common UNIX/Linux user-level commands, such as for moving, copying and editing files. Attendance at HOTT’s UNIX/Linux Fundamentals are recommended nut not Essential.

    Course & Exam Objectives:

    The CompTIA Linux+ [Powered by LPI] certification is a vendor neutral credential. In order to receive CompTIA Linux+ certification, a candidate must pass two exams. The second exam is CompTIA Linux+ [Powered by LPI] exam number LX0-104. This exam measures the remaining competencies (beyond those in exam number LX0-103) required by a junior level Linux administrator, as described in the exam objectives below.

    • Time limit: 90 minutes.

    Classes Duration

    This course will be delivered 1-2 days a week, 7-15 hours a week, one full classroom but not more than 8 students per class. We believe in quality not in quantity so we endeavour to do our best to have precise quantity per class so an instructor can concentrate accordingly or if we have more than 8 students per class then we always put a lab assistant to help out the instructor.
