Course Introduction
The CompTIA Security+ Certification is a vendor neutral credential. The CompTIA Security+ exam is an internationally recognised validation of foundation-level security skills and knowledge, and is used by organisations and security professionals around the globe.

Course Description
The CompTIA Security+ certification exam will certify that the successful candidate has the knowledge and skills required to identify risk, to participate in risk mitigation activities, and to provide infrastructure, application, information, and operational security.

Exams & Recommended Training

Candidates can choose any of the following exam certifications:
Exam Title: CompTIA Security +
Exam Code: SY0-501
The recently updated CompTIA A+ Essentials curriculum prepares students for the CompTIA Security + certification.
We also discounted vouchers from CompTIA exam as being a Pearson Vue Authorized Testing center.

Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course. However, CompTIA Network+ certification and six months to two years of technical networking experience with an emphasis on security is ideal. It is not necessary that you pass the Network+ exam before completing Security+ certification, but it is recommended.

Irrespective of whether you have passed Network+, it is recommended that you have the following skills and knowledge before commencing this course:

You should know the function and basic features of the components of a PC.
Use Windows to create and manage files and use basic administrative features (Explorer, Control Panel and Management Consoles).
Know basic network terminology and functions (such as OSI Model, Topology, Ethernet, TCP/IP, switches, routers).
Understand TCP/IP addressing, core protocols, and troubleshooting tools.

Course Objectives
In this course, candidate will apply security controls to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability, identify appropriate technologies and products, troubleshoot security events and incidents, and operate with an awareness of applicable policies, laws, and regulations
SQA Framework for COMPTIA Course:
The CompTIA program also offers a number of shorter curricula which are related to SQA HN Units. These are also assessed by means of restricted response questions and practical labs and so can give credit transfer to complete units. The total credit of 48 can be achieved on passing SQA exams successfully at no additional cost..

Hands on Experience
We have a work shop where we provide all type of PC, Laptop spare parts to our clients to get experience. Students will get the chance to assemble and disassemble desktop and /Laptop computers under the supervision of our experienced IT support Instructor. Configuring WLAN, Routers, Access Point, Shared Printer Networking etc.

Students intending to use a Part Time Fee Grant to fund their studies should apply for this as soon as possible and prior to the start date of their course. When you have completed the application form an ITPT Course/Guidance Adviser from the IT Professional Training is required to complete the relevant section to authorise your application to SAAS within the deadline, if your application is successful you will be sent an award letter which you should then submit to our Finance department to complete payment.

In some cases we do allow students to enrol and wait for the funding to process if the course date is near or gone past so please contact us to discuss this with ITPT administrators.
