Introduction
All HND Computing students must complete the first year in HNC Computer Games Development and then proceed to HND in Computer Games Development.
The HND Computer games Development will provide students advanced knowledge for a successful career in computer software gaming technology. The course provides a comprehensive range of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in configuring, designing, structuring and games programming in OOPS.
This course will allow students to study towards up-to-date Vendor specific certifications in many of the skills that are in demand for many different types of career in software and gaming industry.
What will you study?
Students will study a selection of appropriate computer games development units designed to develop student’s skills and competencies to enable further study in any university undergraduate software or computing programme.

Students also have the opportunity to study towards a Microsoft, Oracle and Adobe vendor’s neutral qualification.
These qualifications are highly desired by employers. Students learn a range of languages Framework, C++, object oriented programming (OOP) and animation.
Entry Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements:
- Must possess HNC in Computer Games Development or relevant
- Mature candidates without the necessary minimum qualifications but with appropriate experience will also be considered
- Other equivalent qualifications or experience will also be considered
Additional Selection Requirements:
All applications are subject to an interview to assess suitability in terms of academic qualifications and motivation. Reference will also be considered.
Students will be invited to a group and/or individual interview where they will get the opportunity to find out more about the course.
Course Development Routes
This course integrates learning materials from industry standard vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle and adobe which can help to prepare students for a variety of vendor certification exams.
On completion of this certificate or during the course, units relevant to any particular vendor’s certification students can appear to equip themselves with the globally recognised and contemporary employers demand qualification from any of the following:
- Oracle
- Adobe
- Microsoft
The Oracle, Adobe and Microsoft curriculum is embedded within this qualification. Candidates are expected to fund the cost of the vendor certification examinations. Being a partner with Pearson & Certiport Testing Centre we can get student’s discounted exam vouchers. Tutors will also help students in preparing for any Vendors specific exam they would like to appear for.
Vendor qualifications are certificated in addition to the HND award and significantly enhance candidates’ employability.
Progression Route on Course Completion
Successful completion of HND in networking may provide access to 2nd or 3rd year at many universities in the region.
