Course Introduction:
This Professional Development Award (PDA) is one of a suite which was designed to incorporate the knowledge and understanding required by popular Vendors’ Neutral award into SQA’s Higher National frameworks. This PDA Qualification is available at three different levels 7, 8 and 9 and each level is a combination of mandatory and optional units. Students must pass all embedded units in each level qualification to earn the allotted SCQF credit points. The mandatory units are the main structure and reflect the aims and purposes of each award.
The PDA in Cyber Resilience @ SCQF level 7 covers the knowledge and understanding associated with the Cyber Security and would be attractive to candidates who are looking for a position as a Cyber Security Administrator /Professional. These qualifications provide a sound foundation, educate awareness of cyber security manoeuvres and intended for learners who customarily work in a wide range of roles which is not connected with cyber security.
Prerequisites:
No pre-requisite is required and it is recommended entry point for most of the learners.
The qualification at SCQF level 7 will be suitable for leaners with no previous education or experience in cyber security, who are looking to cultivate a foundational awareness. This will provide opportunity to such learners who have a passion to establish career in cybersecurity but do not have any previous requisite knowledge.

SQA Framework:
This course has been arranged in conjunction with the SQA PDA Cyber Resilience at SCQF Level 7 so the Learners will have an opportunity to earn 32 SCQF credit points & received a certificate from Scottish Qualification Authority if successfully passed all relevant SQA unit exams, exam fee is included in the SAAS PTFG funding.

Further Study Progression:
Learners may progress to further cyber security specific learning and training, education or employment. The qualifications should permit learners to progress to a range of pathways in cyber security (or related subjects). Learners completing the SCQF level 9 could consider specialising in cyber security related employment as entry-level cyber security analysts. Those completing lower levels are likely to require further training before being ready to enter cyber security related employment.

How to apply for the Course Funding from SAAS PTFG:
SAAS Part Time full funding is available for this course and the course training will be totally free for eligible candidates only. This is a grant not a loan and the funding covers the full cost of our designated courses including the SQA relevant exams.

In addition to the funding application student must fill ITPT course admission application form so we can reserve the place while their SAAS funding application is in process. Any student who do not inform us then their place in the course will not be guaranteed as we have minimum places to offer to SAAS funded students/learners.
Students intending to use SAAS Part Time Fee Grant to fund their studies should apply well prior to the course starting dates. In some cases we allow students to enrol while their funding is in process, if the course date is near or gone past but they have to provide the proof that their funding has been applied to SAAS PTFG and is in under process.
Self-Finance
Students can also self-finance this course if do not qualify for the funding. The cost can be divided into manageable instalments but this needs to be paid within the course duration. To book the place, first instalment must be paid three weeks before the course starting date.
