CCNP SCOR – 350-701 (Implementing & Operating Cisco Security Core Technologies) – eLearning/Distance Learning Course

Introduction:

The CCNP Security certification validates the skills required by network security engineers to design, deploy, maintain and manage an end-to-end network security solution. The certification provides employers with assurance that the certification holder has the skills required to implement and support a network-wide security solution. CCNP validates the core knowledge you need while giving you the flexibility to choose a focus area. Now every exam in the CCNP Security program earns an individual Specialist certification, so you are recognised for your accomplishments along the way.

CCNP SCOR (350-701) certification covers a breadth of topics, including:

1.         Security Concepts

2.         Network Security

3.         Security the Cloud

4.         Content Security

5.         Endpoint Protection & Detection

6.         Secure Network Access, Visibility and Enforcement

 

Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites for CCNP Security, but ideally candidates will have three to five years of experience implementing security solutions.

  • Describe information security concepts and strategies within the network
  • Describe common TCP/IP, network application, and endpoint attacks
  • Describe how various network security technologies work together to guard against attacks
  • Implement access control on Cisco ASA appliance and Cisco Firepower Next-Generation Firewall
  • Describe and implement basic email content security features and functions provided by Cisco Email Security Appliance
  • Describe and implement web content security features and functions provided by Cisco Web Security Appliance
  • Describe Cisco Umbrella® security capabilities, deployment models, policy management, and Investigate console
  • Introduce VPNs and describe cryptography solutions and algorithms
  • Describe Cisco secure site-to-site connectivity solutions and explain how to deploy Cisco Internetwork Operating System (Cisco IOS®) Virtual Tunnel Interface (VTI)-based point-to-point IPsec VPNs, and point-to-point IPsec VPN on the Cisco ASA and Cisco Firepower Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW)
  • Describe and deploy Cisco secure remote access connectivity solutions and describe how to configure 802.1X and Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) authentication
  • Provide basic understanding of endpoint security and describe Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) for Endpoints architecture and basic features
  • Examine various defenses on Cisco devices that protect the control and management plane
  • Configure and verify Cisco IOS software Layer 2 and Layer 3 data plane controls
  • Describe Cisco Stealthwatch Enterprise and Stealthwatch Cloud solutions
  • Describe basics of cloud computing and common cloud attacks and how to secure cloud environment

Exams & SQA Framework:

The Cisco program also offers a number of shorter curricula which are related to SQA HN Units. These are also assessed by means of restricted response questions and practical labs and so can give credit transfer to complete units. The total credit of 64 can be achieved on passing SQA exams successfully.

 

Modes of Learning:

eLearning: is self-paced, you will be completing the course in your own time and do not have to attend any traditional face to face classes or virtual. You will be assisted by a dedicated tutor/mentor throughout the course attendance via email.

How to apply for the Course Funding from SAAS PTFG:

SAAS Part Time full funding is available for this course and the course training will be totally free for eligible candidates only. This is a grant not a loan and the funding covers the full cost of our designated courses including the SQA relevant exams.

In addition to the funding application student must fill ITPT course admission application form so we can reserve the place while their SAAS funding application is in process. Any student who do not inform us then their place in the course will not be guaranteed as we have minimum places to offer to SAAS funded students/learners.

Students intending to use SAAS Part Time Fee Grant to fund their studies should apply well prior to the course starting dates. In some cases we allow students to enrol while their funding is in process, if the course date is near or gone past but they have to provide the proof that their funding has been applied to SAAS PTFG and is in under process.

Self-Finance

Students can also self-finance this course if do not qualify for the funding.
