CIW: Site Development – eLearning/Distance self-paced learning Course

Course Introduction:

Site Development Associate teaches you essential Web page development skills. You will learn to develop Web sites using Hypertext Markup Language version 5 (HTML5) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). You will learn to write code manually, as well as use graphical user interface (GUI) authoring tools. You will also learn to insert images, create hyperlinks, and add tables, forms, video, and audio to your Web pages. In addition to learning about HTML5 and CSS coding, you will learn how to use HTML5 Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to extend the functionality of Web pages, such as geolocation, drag and drop, canvas, and offline Web applications. Other topics include validating your HTML code, recognizing the importance of search engine optimization (SEO), using style sheets extensively to format Web page content, and implementing fundamental design concepts. Throughout the course, you will learn how Web sites are developed as managed projects. You will also identify e-commerce solutions and relate Web site development to business goals.

Course Description:

Site Development Associate provides an introduction to tasks, job roles and careers in Web development. This course will teach you to work as a productive part of a Web site development team. Hands-on labs include real-world scenarios

Prerequisites:

No experience required, using the Internet, developing Web pages or configuring networks is necessary. However, students should be familiar with an operating system before taking this course.

SQA Framework:

The CIW Site Development program also offers a number of shorter curricula which are related to SQA standalone HN Units. These are also assessed by means of restricted response questions and practical labs and so can give credit transfer to complete units. Learner can earn up to 32 credits upon passing all exams successfully.

Modes of Learning:

eLearning: is self-paced, you will be completing the course in your own time and do not have to attend any traditional face to face classes or virtual. You will be assisted by a dedicated tutor/mentor throughout the course attendance via email.

How to apply for the Course Funding from SAAS PTFG:

SAAS Part Time full funding is available for this course and the course training will be totally free for eligible candidates only. This is a grant not a loan and the funding covers the full cost of our designated courses including the SQA relevant exams.

In addition to the funding application student must fill ITPT course admission application form so we can reserve the place while their SAAS funding application is in process. Any student who do not inform us then their place in the course will not be guaranteed as we have minimum places to offer to SAAS funded students/learners.

Students intending to use SAAS Part Time Fee Grant to fund their studies should apply well prior to the course starting dates. In some cases we allow students to enrol while their funding is in process, if the course date is near or gone past but they have to provide the proof that their funding has been applied to SAAS PTFG and is in under process.
